I was about 2-3 weeks postpartum with my little one when I reached out to Shaunita for guidance and support on my breastfeeding journey. I had attempted breastfeeding with my 2 daughters but both experiences were short-lived.  I was in pain and  engorged; producing only 1-2 ounces after 20 minutes of pumping each breast. This felt like my previous experiences and I was on the verge of quitting. A friend recommended I give Shaunita a call for help because she had such a successful breastfeeding journey. The night I called she was able to talk me through the process to relive my engorgement. She also recommended a new pump, proper shield measurements and other helpful supplies. Additionally, she thoroughly explained how to properly pump, sanitize my pump and store my milk for my baby; to what foods to eat to help with production of milk. She even sent helpful graphs and images for me to utilize. Over the next couple of months, we checked in periodically with updates. By the time my little one was 3 months, I had half a deep freezer full of frozen milk to utilize. What I got was more than just breastfeeding tips. I gained a counselor, encouragement and continued support throughout my journey. No matter how silly or often my questions were, she never made me feel small.
